Action Toolkit

This toolkit contains resources and activities for groups of young people aged between 16 and 24 who want to start the conversation around poverty in the UK. It was designed by several End Child Poverty Youth Ambassadors.

You can work through each session in order, or pick and choose activities to suit your group set up. The Toolkit is also designed so it can be used for groups were some people may have personal experience of living in poverty, and where others perhaps do not.

The sessions end with guidance on how the group could develop a campaign to tackle the root causes of child poverty in the UK.

You can click on the header below to download the whole toolkit, or on the information on each session below to download individual plans.

This session is all about establishing as a group – with introductions and setting a group agreement.

This session aims to get everyone thinking about poverty in the UK.

This session encourages participants to think about poverty in their local area.

This session provides a gentle ‘entry’ into talking about experiences of poverty. It can move towards more difficult and complex issues depending on how the group feels.

This session gets participants to think about how they can use their power and influence to campaign.

This weekend marks the 8th year that the two-child limit to benefit payments has been pulling families in to poverty. And over this weekend the policy has now pulled a further 30,000 kids into poverty since @UKLabour came to power.
